Enemi Entertainment Referral Service & Apprenticeship Program  

 

Custom Comix Referral Service & Apprenticeship Program from Enemi Entertainment is designed to put writers and artists in need of a partner together for the purpose of creating comic book titles. Formulated to play on the strength of both writer and artist, as well as the styles of each, Custom Comix will take two creative halves and form a whole that can turn a great concept into a great comic book.

Enemi Entertainment Referral Service

Writers and artists with concepts and talent which are ready to begin creating their own comic book, but have not had success in locating a collaborative partner whose style combines well with their own or their concept, may find the Enemi Entertainment Referral Service of value. If you have an idea ready and in need of a partner, writers should submit a 500-word synopsis and illustrators should submit concept art. If you are a writer or artist with a preference for a particular type of comic book story but not a defined concept, writers should submit a 500-word example of their style and concept preference and illustrators should submit art in the particular genre that you like to work (superhero, horror, sci-fi, etc.). The referral service would evaluate both types of submissions and perform the introductions between, for example, a writer with a specific horror comic book concept and an illustrator that prefers to draw in the horror vein.

There is no charge for this service. If a writer/artist team is established from utilizing the referral service, Enemi Entertainment will advertise the first issue of a title said team produces for free in the Enemi Entertainment catalog and on the Enemi Entertainment website, as well as offer a 15% discount on the succeeding 11 issues of said title. If the writer/artist team choose not to be distributed by Enemi Entertainment, we wish them the all the best in their creative endeavors.

 

Enemi Entertainment Apprenticeship Program

A writer or artist whose material we feel needs work to get it into a form that is ready for publication will be considered for enrollment in the Enemi Entertainment Apprenticeship Program. Based on the level that we consider an applicant to have reached in terms of their respective creative skill set, be it writing, art, or both, Enemi Entertainment will suggest one of several paths for an applicant to consider. If we feel that a writer or artist needs to work on certain aspects of their style in order to be ready for publication, we may suggest certain steps for them to take, possibly involving their acquisition of certain reference materials, to hone their craft. We may provide them with certain tests, like writing or illustrating a sample story whose framework we provide, in order for them to refine certain elements in their creative style. If we feel that a writer or artist may develop well with a specific publisher whose titles are distributed by Enemi Entertainment, we may suggest to both parties that they take part in a mentoring program, whereby the member publisher would work with the writer or artist to develop their craft, and offer them a chance to write or illustrate a story for one of their titles when the publisher feels that the writer or artist is ready for an assignment.

Be sure to label your work with any copyright or trademark information which cites your ownership and retain a copy for yourself. A cost-effective way to protect your work is to mail it to yourself via Registered Mail, and ask the postal clerk to stamp the date several times along the envelope seal. Keep this sealed envelope in the event you ever need to prove your ownership of a concept in court. Enemi Entertainment respects and does our best to protect the rights of creators.
